Lovely old pub famous for its warm welcome, excellent St Austell ales, good wines and great home cooked food. Our 14th Century Inn is steeped in tradition and is a short walk from the surfing beach of Bantham.

With an excellent reputation for cuisine, bookings are essential throughout the year.

The Sloop Inn offers a rare opportunity to relax, away from it all in the beautiful and unspoilt South Hams. The mild climate and fine scenery makes this the ideal location to take a break at any time of the year, a winter visit is perfect for Christmas shopping

We look forward to welcoming you. Rodney Seymour & Nicholas Croft.

To accompany this, we offer a fine range of draught and bottled beers, largers and ciders, along with an excellent quality wine list.

Bantham beach is one of the best surfing beaches on the south coast, and is only a 5 minute walk over the sand dunes from the Sloop Inn.

Being awarded the 'Rural Clean Beach' flag means that children find it has perfect 'sandcastle' sand, and hours of entertainment can be had at low tide when many rock pools are uncovered. A full-time lifeguard is on duty between May and September.

For those who enjoy an active holiday, the area has much to offer, including 2 golf courses, Thurlestone (1 mile) and Bigbury (7 miles).

Boating enthusiasts will find the estuary a delight, fishermen can enjoy both sea and river fishing, and walkers can follow the coastal footpath to Hope Cove, Salcombe and beyond.

Main access routes: From Exeter follow signs for Plymouth (M5). Leave motorway at Junction 31 (A30/A38). Junction with A380 - take right-hand lanes to keep forward and ascend (A38).
