On Thursday 24th March 2011 the Pandora was struck be a fire which swept through the first floor and the thatched roof. Re-opened on Friday 9th March 2012, the Pandora is back to its former glory!
When you visit the Pandora, it’s easy to forget you’re in the 21st century. Its spectacular setting on the edge of Restronguet Creek is timeless. Parts of the Inn dates back to the 13th Century and with its flagstone floors, low-beamed ceilings and thatched roof it’s not difficult to believe that little has changed since that time.
While the Pandora’s wonderful setting remains unchanged, everything else in this cosy traditional inn is 21st century comfort and quality.
John Milan and his managers Lester and Catherine Croft along with their team look forward to welcoming you.
CORNWALL TOURISM AWARD, Pub of the Year 2010 and in 2005.
Opening hours: 10.30am – 11pm every day
Food served from 10.30am – 9pm Sunday to Thursday and 10.30 – 9.30pm Friday
and Saturday.
Dining at the Pandora is a real treat. Not only is food served all day, but you have lots of choices where to eat it too! Inside, the ground floor of the pub meanders through a series of rooms where cosy nooks and corners provide plenty of secluded areas for you to dine. Outside on warmer days you can eat at tables overlook the water’s edge, or dine 'on the water' itself – seated on our popular pontoon. Back inside, the Upper Deck restaurant can accommodate larger groups and parties.
In the summer months, Cornish cream teas are served every afternoon on the pontoon or in the bar.
Wherever possible, chef Dale McIntosh sources ingredients from Cornish farmers and fishermen. To make the most of the carefully selected produce, food is cooked to order and may sometimes take a little longer to be served.
Fishing from the Pontoon
The terrace is alongside the river where you can sit and relax and take in the sunshine. It also leads onto the Pontoon.
Children and parents love crabbing from the Pontoon. In the summer season, the Pandora Shop, right next to the pub, is open selling crab lines, nets, buckets and spades, ice creams and everything you need for a traditional family day by the sea!
It is safe to swim from the Pontoon when the tide is right.
There are long walks along the river from Mylor Bridge.
