The Kings Arms is one of West Cornwall's most atmospheric pubs. With our no-fruit-machine, no satellite TV policy we have encouraged a return to old family values and quickly earned a reputation for good food and good beer in the most hospitable surroundings.
Dogs are allowed in the public bar and water bowls are provided. Local riders regularly stop in the car park with their horses for a drink at lunchtime and on summer evenings.
Ample car parking is provided and there is a level access to the lounge bar directly from the car park.
There is a strong community spirit in the village and all sorts of different groups meet in the pub. On Monday nights you might find members of Mousehole Male Voice Choir enjoying a drink after practice. (CDs of the choir for sale in the bar). On Tuesday nights the public bar hosts blue grass musicians and their followers whilst the lounge provides a venue for the Laudate choir, Wednesday the church choir might pop in and Thursday welcomes the bell ringers. Line dancers, fresh from their weekly practice in the church hall might stop for a refreshing drink on Friday and the cricketers who are playing at home turn up on Saturdays. On Sundays many regular church goers end up in the pub for lunchtime drinks or a Sunday roast and the euchre players have their own table for an afternoon of cards.
Paul makes a perfect centre for exploring Penwith and our bed and breakfast guests find themselves within walking distance of Mousehole and a few miles away from Land's End, Penzance, St Ives, St Michael's Mount, The Minnack Theatre and the gorgeous beaches of Porthcurno, and Whitesand Bay Sennen.
There has been a place of worship on the site of Paul church for many hundreds of years, a previous building was burned by the Spaniards who came ashore at Mousehole in 1595. The church tower was built early in the 15th century and it is believed that The Kings Arms was originally the 6 cottages housing the master builders of the tower. (Books on the history of the church are for sale in the pub).
There are several cemeteries in and around the church and we welcome many visitors from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and America who come to trace their ancestors. We have a list of all the graves and details on the headstones from the old cemeteries that is available for customers to peruse, and which can make locating a particular grave much more efficient!

Food and Drink
We serve food every lunch time and evening throughout the year (with the exception of Christmas and New Year when the Kitchen closes on particular days). Note that on Sunday evenings in the winter we only serve snacks if there is a charity quiz being run.
Mary Kitchen and Michael Cook, our appositely named chefs, have designed a menu reflecting quality local ingredients and wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Our specials board is regularly updated to take advantage of seasonal produce and offers. There is typically a meat dish, fish option and something exclusively vegetarian to choose from. Newlyn crab is available at different times during the year and served in a salad or sandwich. Check the board outside for availability.
Our delicious home-cooked puddings are served with a choice of clotted cream, ice cream or custard. Sticky toffee pudding, Apple pie and Chocolate nut sundae are permanent features on the desert menu and supplemented by changing specials such as rhubarb and cinnamon crumble, chocolate and baileys cheesecake, bakewell tart and lemon meringue pie.
A children's menu is available and we do have some high chairs for younger customers.
Sunday lunch is popular for our Roasts which are served with vegetables and roast potatoes and appropriate trimmings. Smaller portions are available for children and those with reduced appetites.
Bookings are advisable.
